Under 12's
The Under 12's are the senior age-group in the Mini Section and we play full contact rugby.  We field a team of twelve players; five in the scrum and seven backs.

In addition to full contact, we also have contested scrums and line-outs.

We play on a 3/4 size pitch and after each try a nominated player will kick for a conversion.  A game for the Under 12's normally lasts 40 minutes in total.

U12s Match Reports

Match Report U12s v Harpenden & Chess Valley 29/11/09

Game 1 - Thrashed!!! Harpenden 47 Dunstablians 0

Game 2 - With the boys totally demoralised we embarked on our second game against Chess Valley. Although play had improved by our boys it was nowhere near the improvement needed to secure a win. The final score was 15 - 5 to Chesham with our try being put down by Luke Renforth.

Game 3 - Cold - wet - and with a 50 - 50 mix of those who wanted to play and those who wanted to just go home a final game was started with Harpenden. But whether it was the 'c'est la vie' attitude something had changed. Heads were up and the moral was boosted when a very muddy Luke Renforth made the first try of the game. With a shocked Harpenden squad and an invigorated Dunstablians team Luke and Sam Cutler helped to give us a further 2 trys securing us a win of 15 - 5 (no conversions were taken in the match)

Match Report U12s v St Neots 22/11/09

With St Neots known as a slight Tour de Force for our age group a very strong first half was forced with 80% of play in the Dunstablians half resulting in a try by Joe Brazier, the conversion was taken by Tom Henry but due to extremely wet and slippery conditions the ball failed to make its mark. The forwards did a great job as did all the rest of the team and again this week there was some excellent play from the new team members.

In the second half the St Neots' squad responded well to the Dunstablians' pressure and were able to gain headway and put two tries over the line also securing their conversions.

The final score 5-14 to St Neots

With the torrential rain now falling we decided to play one more game of just 10 minutes each way with no conversions. The final result for this match was 5-10 to St Neots with our try being touched down by Joe Brazier.

Match Report U12s v Finchley & Kilburn 8/11/09

After an early wet start the morning proceeded to stay dry for our matches against Finchley then Kilburn.

The boys were unable to make much headway against a strong Finchley side who managed to get many good runs and passes past our boys. The final score was a 49 - 14  loss to us with a tries by Joe Brazier and Sam Cuttler and 2 conversion by James Molloy.

Although heads could have been down for us in the second match against Kilburn it appeared that our boys had suddenly warmed up and the squad had a cohesive start to the next match with plenty of action seen by both our new boys and core players. There was some excellent play with some great runs and good defence. The match saw Dean Omar scoring his first 2 tries for the D's with the team setting up tries for Sam Cuttler, James Molloy, Joe Brazier and Jack Taylor - James Molloy converting 5 out of the 6 tries in true Molloy fashion. Well done to all the boys in the team - who make Sundays worth getting up for. The final score was a 40-7 win to the D's.
